If installation shows an unknown-publisher warning, see the FAQ at the bottom of the page. Enabling TUN mode for the first time requires installing a system service and granting admin rights, as prompted by the client.
macOS installers are split by chip type: Apple silicon (M-series) and Intel each have their own dmg. If you're unsure which chip your Mac has, check About This Mac in the Apple menu before downloading to avoid grabbing the wrong build.

If macOS blocks the app on first launch, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow it. Running the Intel build on Apple silicon requires the Rosetta translation layer.
Android installers are split by CPU architecture: choose arm64-v8a for most phones from the last few years, armeabi-v7a for older 32-bit devices, and universal if you're unsure. On first launch you'll need to allow the app to create a VPN connection.

Installing an APK from a browser requires temporarily allowing installs from that source in system settings. Some manufacturer skins kill proxy apps in the background, so it's worth disabling battery optimization for the client.
iOS and iPadOS clients come from the App Store. Clash Plus is the top pick: install from the store page, import a subscription link, approve the VPN configuration prompt, and you're set—updates arrive automatically through the App Store.

On iOS, proxying runs through a system network extension: the connection stays up via the extension even if the app is suspended in the background. The VPN toggle in Control Center matches the connection state shown in the app.
Linux desktop users should pick a package by their distro's package manager: deb for Debian/Ubuntu-based systems, rpm for Fedora/openSUSE-based ones. For servers or headless setups, use Mihomo directly in the core section.

Installing the deb with sudo apt install ./filename.deb handles dependencies automatically. Enabling TUN mode requires granting the client the relevant network permissions—just follow the in-app prompts.
Mihomo is the actively maintained core of the Clash ecosystem—a command-line program built for servers, software routers, and automated deployments. Regular desktop and mobile users don't need to download the core separately; just install one of the GUI clients above.
